decorated character cottage with beams,
exposed stonework and a pretty garden makes
a delightful holiday home in this popular
seaside resort.
Situated close to the
"Byes", it offers varied coastal
walks, fishing and swimming. The beach is
shingle with sea washed sand and rock pools
exposed at low tide. 500 foot high cliffs
rising from the sea make for spectacular
walking scenery. Places to visit
include the Donkey Sanctuary, Crealy, Bicton
Gardens and many NT properties. Walk the
Jurassic Coastal Path taking in Beer,
Seaton, Branscombe, or take a boat trip
around the coast.
The medieval port of
Lyme Regis is 17 miles, the quiet backwaters
of Culm Valley and the Blackdown Hills are
23 miles and Seaton is 11 miles.

These properties are

historic village of Colyton. These
attractive stone cottages have all been
thoughtfully renovated retaining character
and charm, beams and partial stone walling.
They offer spacious well equipped and
tastefully furnished holiday accommodation.
In addition The Old Dairy is single storey
and offers wheelchair access. Colyton is
just 2 miles from the East Devon Coast at
Seaton and linked by a pleasant tramway ride
along the Axe Estuary famous for its
birdlife. During the summer season a horse
drawn waggon takes visitors to Colyton on a
trip around the town and back to the tram
station. Other resorts are easily reached
such as Sidmouth, Exmouth, Lyme Regis, Beer
and Branscombe Bay. There are several local
National Trust properties and many places of
interest such as Honiton, famed as a
principal antique, art and craft centre,
Bicton Park, Forde Abbey, Crealy Adventure
Park, Exeter and Dartmoor. The immediate
locality offers particular opportunities for
walking, cycling (cycles available for hire
in Colyton), horse riding, bird watching and
other country pursuits. All properties
afford views over beautiful countryside.
Depending on the season, sheep, cattle and
alpacas normally graze on the owners’ land
around the farm cottages. There are
excellent coastal walks, riding and golf. A
selection of shops, pubs and restaurants 1
mile at Colyton.
