and the Rhys Thomas James Eisteddfod. 6
miles to the north lies Tregaron, and the
Cors Caron National Nature Reserve. The
reserve is the best remaining example of an
active raised bog in England and Wales,
covering over 800 acres, and is refuge for a
wide range of plants, insects, birds and
mammals. Visit the Old Railway Walk and
viewing tower, but a permit is needed for
other areas.
There is a
golf course 1.5 miles away. Horse riding,
pony trekking and fishing can be arranged
locally.

areas most spectacular sights is the Red Kite -
until recently on the brink of extinction, but there
are now believed to be over 250 breeding pairs in
Mid-Wales. To see them visit the Pont Einon Feeding
