A detached holiday property, which has been re-thatched, the house has been converted and refurbished to the highest of standards with a lawned garden, which meets the water’s edge where there is a private mooring available, along with a 12-seater boat for guests to use. The Broads are a paradise for nature lovers and are the most important wetlands in Europe, alive with ducks, geese and swans, as well as a host of other birdlife including spoonbills and herons. The most obvious and popular choice of exploring this stunning area is by boat, but an alternative is to cycle the many paths, the most famous being Weaver Way – a 56 mile long path which winds through the Broads on its way to Cromer and Great Yarmouth. For those who enjoy golf, the nearest course can be found at Sprowston (6 miles), or the Norwich and Cromer Golf Course is easily accessible.
For day trips visitors are spoilt for choice with Norwich only 8 miles distant, famous for its cathedral, castle and museums as well as many bars and restaurants. A day by the sea is a must and with so many beautiful sandy beaches found along the Norfolk coast only 11 miles, visitors are spoilt for choice. Many National Trust properties can be found with Bickling Hall and Felbrigg Hall to name just two. Shops 1 mile.

One of the key attractions is Banham Zoo which is close by, and has up to 1,000 animals, ranging from big cats to birds of prey. The zoo has 35 acres of beautiful parkland and gardens. Bressingham Steam Museum and Gardens (6 miles) offers 5 miles of steam railway rides amongst 12 acres of glorious gardens. Thetford Forest (12 miles) is ideal for walking, cycling and picnics with its Pedlars Way footpath and national cycle route. The addition of the marked forest walks, wildlife hides and recreational facilities has resulted in a pleasant venue for visitors, with the High Lodge Forest Centre being the place where trail maps can be obtained and bicycles hired.

The North Norfolk coastline with sandy beaches, nature and bird reserves within touring distance, the Norfolk Broads can be reached within an hour. Alternatively the fine city of Norwich is only 20 miles away with is cathedrals, theatres, museums, and array of shops and cafes. The National Trust property, north–west of the forest is Oxburgh Hall, a fine example of Tudor manor house complete with a moat. Pub 1 mile.
