Click a county in the map to the left or click Scotland or Wales.

You can then select a page that will display towns and villages in that county where you can drill-down to cottages sleeping 2, 4, 6, 8, or 10 people within 25 miles radius of the town or village you select.

We recommend that before booking a cottage, you always check the location of the cottage by clicking "Find this property on a map" in the property details page.

When the display of cottages opens you can change the following settings (The display of cottages will then automatically refresh to your new criteria)

    1. Start Date of your stay

    2. Stay Duration - 2, 3, 4, 7, or 14 days - some cottages may not offer all.

    3. Number in your party - 2 to 30

    4. Proximity to the town or village  - 10, 15, 20, 25, or 50 miles

Changing these criteria will change the number of cottages displayed - at times when bookings are heavy and you can't find an exact cottage  match,  it may make sense to take a cottage for 4 even if you only need a cottage for 2 people. Remember you can also book by phone.

When you display a Google map click the button to switch to satellite view.

Roll the wheel of your mouse to zoom in when your mouse pointer is over the display.

Google Route maps are excellent except that you may find that the route displayed is not always the shortest distance.

See the caption "Drag to change route" in the image of a map on the right. This caption appears when you hold your mouse pointer over a section of the route (in purple), and the dot with the black border appears. Click picture of map on right to open Google route map from London to Banbury then hold down your right mouse button over a section of the route in purple and drag that portion of the route to another location where it will establish the new route and the distances and times to the left of the map will be updated.

You can also change the departure point or destination location by entering the new target in one of the text boxes at the top of the Google map window (replicated below) or by dragging the icon at the end of the route to another location.

If you typed in Watford in the text box containing the word London then clicked 'Get Directions' the route would be re-drawn from Watford to Banbury.

You will find a link to a Google Map of the area adjacent to each town or village name in the page that opens when you click on a county in the map above - when you go to a property details page for a cottage also click "Find this property on a map" to make sure that you have identified it's location correctly. Some counties have more than one town or village having the same name and whilst we believe we have 99.9% of the locations correctly linked in the Google Map you may find a situation where we have matched the Google Map to another location in that county having the same name.

You can enter the street number, street name, and village to locate a specific property. This technology has come of age in Google Maps for the major countries around the world.
