We present our email address above-right as an image to stop it being copied for spam purposes - please key this address into your email header if you wish to contact us. We welcome feedback on how you find these pages for Apple iPad and will modify pages that contain aspects that make them difficult to navigate and use.

Because Apple iPad is quickly becoming more widley used around the world we are developing a section of web pages in our website explorethecountry.com configured specifically for iPad use. Our objective is to enable our customers to access the same holiday booking details and perform searches including online booking from their iPads when away from home just as if they were sitting in front of their Computer at home.

We purchased an Apple iPad to get first hand experience to configure these pages to provide the best experience for our customers visiting our website using an Apple iPad. Please note that comments we make are based on our experience and findings - we welcome emails offering better ways to perform the same functions.
Pages that we have configured for iPad have this image to the left at the bottom of the page.
There will be pages that have not been specifically configured for iPad but work to acceptable standards in an iPad. Such pages will not have the iPad Configured image at the bottom of the page but will be included in the iPad navigation structure.

Navigation and moving between various websites - When you navigate your way though these pages you will find when you go to book a holiday that you move to the back-end pages provided by the company we have partnered with - for boating holidays it is Hoseasons, for Cottages it is Cottages4you a company owned by Hoseasons. You will also find that at times you move to our other website explorethecountry.co.uk.
Generally when you move through our front-end website the page you move from closes when  you move to a new page. When you move to a back-end page or our other wbsite explorethecountry.co.uk the page you move from remains open and in iPad it lies behind the page that opens. To navigate back to our front-end close the back-end page and select the front-end page sitting beneath the back-end page. Here is a photograph of the pages that haven't been closed. One of these pages can be restored just by touching the page. You can remove these pages from this locagtion by simply touching the cross inside the circle.

  Repository for pages still open:

In the toolbar at the top left of the iPad screen you will see a small graphic that looks like the image to the left.
This tells you how many pages you have sitting beneath the window or page that is currently open. If you touch the image the window/page currently displayed will fold back and all pages sitting beneath will be revealed as in the photo shot here. Once you get all these procedures sorted managing windows or pages becomes pretty straight forward and certainly different to the windows structure that those of us who have only used Microsoft products in the past have become accustomed to.

How to close a map that opens when you click on a map URL and you want to get back to the page you were viewing.

Many locations in our pages have a URL named "Map" that opens a map showing the location of the town or village. When you have finished with the map close the window by pressing on the button on the left of your iPad then restore the page that you were looking at when you activated the map from the repository illustrated above.

Bringing to you the best holiday offers across the UK and Europe.
