Spinners Cottage
- sleeps 4
Bibury, Gloucestershire
|
|
Once described
by William Morris as `the most beautiful
village in England', these two charming
properties have an enviable location, set
near the quiant and much-photographed
Arlington Row. Spinners Cottage stands
detached, while Mill Cottage forms part of
Arlington Mill, the historic building which
has been used for both grinding of corn and
for fulling (the washing of Cotswold
fleece).
Views of
the water meadow - where wildfowl thrive,
and lazy rainbow trout wait to be fed by
visitors - can be seen from the properties.
Arlington Mill is mentioned in the Doomsday
Book, yet the present building dates from
the 18th century. Fishing is
available on the river.
